All teachers and students are invited to submit entries to
the festival and attend the Festival on June 3 at either of the
two hosted sites. In northern California, the Festival will be
held at Foothill College, 12345 El Monte
Road, in Los Altos Hills. In southern California, the
site will again be Golden West College,
15751 Gothard Street, in Huntington Beach. The two
sites will be connected via ISDN and festival goers at either
site will see winning entries and student/teacher winners from
both sites.
Attending the Festival is a great way for teachers and students
to see exactly what can be accomplished by students using media
and multimedia. Many of the winning entries are simply magnificent!
Attending the Festival is a fast way to "raise the bar"
at your own school or district.
There is no cost to attend the Festival and students and teachers
are welcome. Light refreshments will be served either before the
event (in the south) or afterward (in the north).
For information about the southern location, call KOCE-TV,
714-895-5623, or e-mail Hall Davidson at hall@cccd.edu.
For information about the northern location, contact Mary Fran
Breiling at call 650-949-7682 or fax 650-949-7684.
One
plaque is presented to winning participants for each award. Extra
plaques may ordered by winning students, teachers, or schools.
Many teachers and/or parents acquire extra plaques for major
student contributors to the project or for the school trophy
case, computer lab, or media room. The plaques have the award
category, the project title, and either "media" or
"multimedia" (depending on the category) and the year.
For the past four years, the plaques have been ordered from Hollywood
Trophy in Los Angeles. Cost is expected to be between $20 -$25
dollars. For additional plaques, Hollywood Trophy may
be contacted at directly at 323-469-3959 (ask for Mike).
No fees from extra trophy sales go to the Festival. There is
no connection between the California Student Media and Multimedia
Festival and Hollywood Trophy. The plaques are 8"x6"
(29.5x15mm)
